THE PATH OF YOGA TEACHER AND MOUNTAIN HIKING GUIDE ROMANA
Romana Schwaiger’s love of nature drove her to Neuberg an der Mürz. The mountain world with the Schneealpe, Rax and the turquoise Mürz has always provided her with inspiration and energy. The Neuberg native started out with a flexible and varied job. In 2012, she came across yoga by chance, which was initially intended to serve as a balance to her endurance sport. After a few visits to various yoga studios, Romana was fascinated.
She traveled to South India, where she immersed herself deeper and deeper in the philosophy of life and practice of yoga. This was followed by a series of yoga training courses all over the world. In order to combine her passions of yoga and mountains, Romana decided to train as a mountain hiking guide. Today she can make a living from yoga and mountain hiking – a dream she thought she would never be able to fulfill. But the good networks and support in Eastern Upper Styria have shown her new paths.
ASTRID NEUHOLD
She didn’t “make a career out of it”, Astrid constantly emphasizes. She never aspired to become head of production at 4a manufacturing, a subsidiary of the 4a Group – the job found her. Born in Vordernberg, she joined the company around 10 years ago, when it still had around a dozen employees.
Astrid originally worked as a photographer and saleswoman. She was also enthusiastic about photography as a career. However, when her two now grown-up daughters were born, Astrid found the creative industry incompatible with family life due to various evening jobs. She worked in retail and in a laundry. Then she applied for a job in production at 4a. Thanks to her great curiosity and commitment, Astrid was able to work everywhere and acquire an immense amount of knowledge. This knowledge, her enthusiasm and her flair for people make her a valued manager in production today.
