Green Lake in TraGÖß

The Green Lake in eastern Upper Styria, a miracle of nature, will enchant you with its unique play of colours. Once you see it, you will understand why it is so beloved. The crystal-clear spring water from the surrounding mountains makes the lake glow in lush emerald and turquoise every year and transforms the surroundings into a fairytale setting. A natural spectacle unlike any other.

To protect the delicate flora and fauna on site, swimming and diving are not permitted in the Green Lake. Have a slow walk around the lake. Let its magic touch refresh your soul and take its peaceful and quiet energy back home with you.

Leopoldsteinersee near Eisenerz

Right outside the town of Eisenerz you will discover a true gem, the Leopoldsteinersee. This serene lake is a marvel with emerald green water nestled amidst the stunning foothills of the Hochschwab massif. Admire the reflections of the surrounding mountains in the crystal-clear water, either on foot, by boat or even from the top of the rocks. Every step of the 2-hour trail around this lake is a discovery you will never forget. The ideal place to cool off on a hot summer day.

Dare to venture out onto the glistening water and hire a rowing boat or an electric boat. If you are the more adventurous type, you can climb the Seemauer rock face and the Kaiser Franz Joseph fixed rope route and enjoy the breathtaking view of this natural jewel from above.
